DESIGN
WELCOME TO 2039
An interactive textile interface inviting users to touch the fabric. In doing so, users can activate the lights embedded in the fabric and alter the colour or intensity by touching the different coloured shapes.
This is a personal investigation with techniques such as weaving and hand tufting, using rules to restrict me; grid lines, minimalistic, texture, shapes, colour. And a research study into the futuristic possibilities interfaces would have in a home setting. Looking at light designer, Ingo Maurer, and quilter, Jennifer Neil, I designed a household product disguised in colours and shapes.
